Ice Carve is a short-session arcade game set in an ice sculptor's workshop, played entirely with one thumb.
The challenge
Swipe-to-slice games are a crowded genre, and they succeed on feel alone. The stroke has to follow the finger exactly, shattering has to feel crisp, and difficulty has to rise without ever feeling unfair.
What we did
Blocks of ice fly up in arcs, and a swipe draws a chisel stroke that shatters every block it crosses. Dark-ice bombs are mixed in, and touching one costs a tool, so each stroke is a small decision.
Carving several blocks in one stroke builds a combo multiplier, rewarding wide, confident swipes over nervous taps.
Ten studios unlock one after another, each with faster volleys and more bombs, and the game keeps a personal record for every studio.
